2021 SUMMER JR. TENNIS TEAM

The Rancho Colorados Junior Tennis Team is for the player who is ready to compete in matches against fellow Rancho Juniors as well as surrounding Clubs.
In addition, children will have the opportunity to be a member of a team that promotes sportsmanship, competition, camaraderie and fun!
Listed below are the qualifications needed to participate on the Rancho Summer Team.
2021 Rancho Summer Jr. Tennis Team Clinic
Monday-Thursday beginning June 1st and ending July 22nd.(Week 1 is Tuesday-Friday)
Tennis Team Camp is run in 1 Week Sessions. There are 8 total weeks to choose from.
Space is very limited for each 1 week session....
1:00-2:30pm 13 and Over
2:30-4:00pm 12 and Under
We will be incorporating RANCHO CUP style match play into the Program on Wednesday of each week. We hope to be able to to do some informal exchanges with local Clubs as well. At this time, there is no formal Summer League.
Cost for each 1 week session is $135.00 per child. No payment is due at registration. You will be invoiced the week your Camp starts.

8 One Week Sessions
TO QUALIFY FOR THE TEAM CLINIC:
• Have played matches with green or regular tennis balls
• Be able to sustain a consistent rally of at least 3-4 shots
• Get the serve in play on a regular basis
• Have knowledge of the basic rules and etiquette of tennis
If a player cannot meet these performance standards, that Junior will need to enroll in the Summer Morning Jr. Tennis Clinic Program.

KEY DATES & SCHEDULES
Players will attend practice in their respective age group. Practice activities include stroke production, point play production and match strategy under the direction of Kim, Brian and the Summer Staff. Practice starts June 10th and ends August 2nd.
June 1st - July 24th
• 11 and Under: Mondays and Fridays 1:30–3:00 pm
• 12 and Over: Mondays and Fridays 3:00–4:30 pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays players will play a match. Match schedules will be emailed to you the week of June 18th.
• The schedule for the entire season will be posted before the end of the first week of practice based on availability submitted on applications.
• Once the schedule is set, parents must find subs if their kids are unable to participate in a match.
There will be an end-of-season awards party with appropriate awards being presented at this time. We encourage all participants to attend.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE
A very important aspect of the program is sticking to the schedules. If your child does not show up to a scheduled match, it leaves another player in limbo. Please be considerate of others' time and please also help your child by being punctual and dependable when they are scheduled to play.

WEDNESDAY RANCHO DAVIS CUP
This will be a Davis Cup Tennis format with Co-Ed Singles and Doubles that will include on-court coaching.
- Wednesday 1:30-3:30pm All Ages
LAMORINDA COED SATELLITE LEAGUE
Intermediate and below team matches against other local clubs. Boys and girls will be placed on teams (10 and under, 12 and under, 13 and over). There will be 2 singles and 2 doubles matches for each age division. Participants play as many games as possible in one hour. Match play is on Tuesdays; 10’s at 1pm, 12’s at 2pm, and 13+ at 3pm.
LAMORINDA COED OPEN LEAGUE
High intermediate to advanced matches against other local clubs. Format is two singles and 2 doubles per match. Two out of three sets (match tiebreak in lieu of a third set). Matches will be on Thursdays and must start between 12:00-3:00 pm.
Parents help make this program a success. Throughout the summer season, we need volunteers to help out. Please choose one or more of the following volunteer opportunities:
AGE GROUP CARPOOL COORDINATORS
Coordinates rides for a specific age group for away matches(Need 6 Volunteers)
AGE GROUP CARPOOL DRIVERS
Drives players to away matches
RECOGNITION & AWARD DINNER COORDINATORS
2 volunteers to oversee this event
